The Saga of Clay Easton

About

The 1800’s were filled with a lot of changes in this country, some good and some not so good. The end of the Civil War led to the west gaining momentum. The gold rush certainly added fuel to this growth. Yet, this so-called prosperity comes with a price. The west grew faster than the law could keep up with it.

Fortunately, there were a few good men that took it upon themselves to fight the rampant lawlessness that seemed to flourish overnight. Quite often these men were known simply as the marshal of the town. Generally that also included the area surrounding the town, spanning into the vast open land. This lawman’s job was very difficult at best. Then there were the crooked sheriffs that allowed his friends to get away with all sorts of crimes. He would, in turn, receive a portion of their proceeds, which were often stolen from the community.

Once a bad person was placed in jail, he would most likely hold a grudge and seek revenge later on. The story begins with Clay Easton, being a dedicated lawman in a small town just outside of Wichita, Kansas…where marries the women he loves with all his heart and soul. Soon tragedy strikes and thus begins
The Saga of Clay Easton.
